Enter CEREMONIAL BUILDING at Main Deck (This will be a Welcome Hall
and a place to purchase and take tickets While waiting for time to start
tour, customers may go to: 2nd floor to view exhibit of Zheng He's voyages,
and 3rd floor Penthouse
to have an unobstructed view of the Main deck below, sails, bow, Admiral's
Bldg., etc.
At start of tour, follow guide down stairs from Main Deck to: MING THEATER on "D" Deck to view film on early Ming Period, Zhu Di, Zheng He exhibitions, etc.
(NOTE: Off Limits on "D" Deck is area that will hold modern generators, pumps, fuel, fresh water, air conditioning, etc.)
Follow stairs up to "C" Deck to start viewing the exhibit: In this space we will recreate Ming gifts, sailor quarters, food storage in huge jars, liquor storage and manufacture, the sailor mess area and kitchen.
Follow stairs up to "B" Deck Forward to view exhibit on: In this space we will recreate Ming weapons, the ship prison, ammo storage, matches and candles storage, recreation of the ship carpenter shop, sail making shop and blacksmith shop for making metal tools and weapons, plus we will recreate more up-scaled cabins for the Ming enlisted officers, their dining and kitchen facilities.
Follow stairs up to Main Deck Forward to view exhibit on: A modern engine winch, plus an exhibit on the development of the anchor and development of Chinese ships. (May place some type of bar/refreshment facility in this bow area.) Tour group will then proceed up one flight of stairs to the "Middle" Bow Deck and view the actual Baochaun anchors (2), winch, chain, plus sail storage area.
Proceed back down stairs to "Main" Deck and follow walkway across the open "Main" Deck (covered of rain), to covered passageway on starboard side of ship, past ADMIRAL'S BUILDING and past GUEST QUARTERS BUILDING to the "Main" Deck Stern Area:
View the rudder operation, plus a recreation of the Ming soldier quarters, their dining and kitchen facilities. We will also have in this area a MING ENTERTAINMENT AREA, where tour customers will view 'live' entertainment, such as dancing, music playing, acrobats, a puppet show, etc.
(NOTE: Off Limits on this "Main" Deck Stern Area are modern quarters for full time ship staff, company offices, etc.)
Follow covered passageway to GUEST QUARTERS BUILDING on the "Main" Deck to view: A recreation of rooms used by Ming envoys and ministers, which would include bedroom, bath, dining and kitchen areas.
(NOTE: Off Limits on Level 2 and Level 3 of the GUEST QUARTERS BUILDING are rooms and suites for tour sponsor guests, government officials, company officials, etc.)
Follow covered passageway forward to ADMIRAL'S BUILDING: Enter at "Main"
Deck to view San Bao's office area, Follow stairs up to 2nd floor to view
San Bao's living room, dining room and prayer mosque. Follow stairs up
to 3rd floor to view San Bao's bedroom,
bathroom,
and rooms of his personal servants. Follow stairs up to 4th floor to view
the Navigation Room and the Goddess Alter.
(NOTE: The Navigation Room exhibit will show how the Ming ships communicated with each other in five ways: by using lights (lanterns), pigeons (to carry messages), flags (most common), sound (drums, gongs, trumpets) and by using small boats (with sails and oars).)
Follow stairs down to MAIN EXHIBITION HALL on "B" Deck Aft: Tour could pass the 'glassed-in' Closed Circuit TV Monitoring Control Center Area amidships on "B" Deck. The MAIN EXHIBITION HALL area is the only area on the ship to contain priceless Chinese museum relics from the Ming Period. Armed guards will be visible (dressed in Ming uniforms) in this museum area.
Follow stairs up to MERCHANDISE AREA one deck above "Main" Deck at the stern. This area will feature a wide variety of Chinese products, Ming treasure recreations, books, videos, catalogs, T-shirts, jewelry, furniture, clothing, models, games, etc.
(NOTE: Off Limits on this deck would be additional modern crew quarters for ship personnel, as well as office space for SBE management.)
After visiting the MERCHANDISE AREA, visitors could enjoy a meal at
the EMPEROR'S
RESTAURANT,
one deck above at the stern.
(NOTE: The restaurant area could easily be reached by taking exterior stairs from the "Main" Deck. The MERCHANDISE AREA could also be reached by taking the same exterior stairs from the "Main" Deck.
(NOTE: Before or after viewing the treasure ship exhibit area, visitors could roam freely and have access to "Upper Bow and Stern Areas to view open deck, sails, view harbor, take pictures, visit restaurant, merchandise area, etc.)
